Advanced Cosmetology

Cosmetology is the art and science of beautifying hair, skin, and nails. Cosmetologists provide beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, coloring, and styling hair. Additionally, cosmetologists may train to give manicures, pedicures, scalp, and facial treatments; provide skin and makeup analysis; and clean and style wigs and hairpieces. The Advanced Cosmetology Program at Collins Career Technical Center provides a curriculum that includes theory, skills, and salon ethics required to become a licensed cosmetologist. Students practice techniques in a practical work-supervised salon setting, including hair cutting and styling, nail care, including manicures and pedicures, and chemical and skin care services. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience in beauty culture practice by building upon a foundation of cosmetology theory.

The Collins Career Technical Center Advanced Cosmetology Program provides education and skills training to students desiring a position in the cosmetology field. This program aims to prepare students to pass the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology licensure examination. Students will be eligible to sit for this exam upon completing the program.
