Program Overview

The Collins Career Technical Center in Ohio offers a Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse (LPN to RN) Diploma program. This program is designed for individuals who are already licensed practical nurses and wish to become registered nurses. The program combines practical nursing with registered nursing education to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide advanced patient care as registered nurses. The curriculum covers topics such as anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, nursing fundamentals, patient assessment, and more, as well as hands-on training in a clinical setting. The program is full-time and typically takes 11 months to complete. Upon completing the program, graduates can take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) to become registered nurses. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median annual wage for registered nurses was $77,600 in May 2020. Job growth for registered nurses is projected to be much faster than average for all occupations.
