Cost of Attendance

Cost of Attendance budgets reflect direct and estimated indirect costs for students during an academic year. The cost of attendance used for packaging is included on the student aid offer. The total aid received by the student cannot exceed the student's cost of attendance. Collins Career Technical Center’s cost of attendance budgets include:

  • Tuition and Fees: the tuition and fees necessary for the course of study.
  • Books and Supplies: includes the costs of purchasing equipment, materials, or supplies required of all students in the same course of study.
  • Room and Board: food and housing allowance based on whether the student is living independently or not.
  • Transportation: estimated costs for travel between school and home, including gas or public transit costs.
  • Miscellaneous/Personal expenses: such as clothing, laundry, toiletries, and entertainment. Can include a one-time purchase of a computer/laptop.

Information used to develop student budgets is derived from institutional sources, federal regulations, the U.S. Department of Education, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and cost-of-living figures in the tri-state area. Tri-State regional averages are derived from:

  • Cabell County, WV
  • Boyd County, KY
  • Greenup County, KY
  • Scioto County, OH
  • Lawrence County, OH

The COA is not the total that the student will pay. CCTC will only bill for direct costs, including tuition, fees, and any other related charges.
